Sale items for the home

FOR THE HOME

#BlackFriday sales are still going strong, so I've rounded up items that I have my eye on for my own home office! I just ordered this desk which is on sale for under $200 and a set of bookshelves which was over $100 each but I found them here for less than $60 each. I am super excited to do a home office reveal once they arrive and I get them set up and situated!
I've always wanted a gorgeous makeup set up. I saw a similar acrylic drawer set on Katiesbliss.com so I might ask Santa for it for Christmas :) The one I picked out is less than $40 here.

must have items for a living room




My boyfriend just moved into a new house so I'm helping him figure out what he needs for each room :) His old house came furnished so he's had to buy a lot of new stuff. Decorating a new place can be fun but it's definitely time consuming and can be a little overwhelming. Hopefully this will help him and some of you, too.

 I love white with gold accents, so I'm super into this faux marble table lamp and this gold painted side table. I really like rooms to be bright and well-lit, so I'm all about lamps, lamps, lamps. Mirrors are also good to have on the walls because they open up a room and make it brighter.

 Another item that brightens and livens up a space is a plant. I really like how big green leafy plants look in rooms, but in case you're not a plant person, you could always just get a print like the one I linked above. Isn't it nice? I'm big into gallery walls and Lulu and Georgia has a lot of bright, beautiful prints that would be perfect for a girly office or a super cute living space.

It's important to stay organized in your space, so make sure you have a place for your stuff. If you're anything like me you have a lot of books and candles. I have so many and not enough places to put them. I'm planning to get a bookcase like this one for my room for my books, candles, makeup and jewelry. That's the great thing about bookcases, you can put your stuff on display on them and make it look artistic and pretty.

The last important thing about setting up a living space is to pick out a good color scheme that reflects your personality and/or how you want to feel in your home. I recommend browsing pinterest for some color pairing ideas, or you could always head to your local home depot and pick up some paint swatches. It's a good idea to look at what you already own to determine what color scheme you might already have going on, and then build off of that when you go to buy more stuff.

It's the most wonderful time of the year! I love taking the time around the holidays to think about all that I have to be thankful for and to rejoice in spending time with my family, friends and loved ones! I recently cleaned out my closet (which felt AMAZING by the way!!) and I made a point to touch every single piece of clothing that I own to determine whether or not it still brought me joy or was something I could use. In my opinion, it's important to cultivate a wardrobe that is a mix of high end and low end pieces. Fast fashion can keep you trendy, but there's some pieces that never go out of style, like ballet flats, turtle necks and cigarette pants. If you're working on your long-term wardrobe, these are some items to ask Santa for to get you started!

Christmas Gift Guide $100 and Under

Happy Friday lovelies!! It's December and I'm so excited because it's only 23 days until Christmas! I have my Christmas countdown blocks up on my desk at work and we decorated the office and it feels so festive and fun!

I'm going to be doing a series of gift guides at different price points over the coming weeks, $100 and under, $50 and under, $25 and under, etc. While this time of year isn't about presents, it can feel really good to give a thoughtful gift to someone you love.

Here are some ideas to help you get started!




I love the unique Monogram Glass Terrarium  for someone who loves succulents and plants, and how cute and cozy is that North Face fleece jacket? I've had my North Face fleeces literally for ten years (I got them in high school) and they are still in excellent condition. They are expensive but will last you a long time. A lot of the colors/sizes are selling out but this print is really cute and still available!

I asked my boyfriend for the Love Code Charm Necklace - it has a "secret message" on it - you have to spin it to be able to read the message. How sweet is that? Something about it is really romantic :)

Also I'm a sucker for boots, and I was really excited when I saw these are 25% off! They're normally $100 but they're on sale for $75! Woohoo! I love sales!

Hi babes!! Happy FriYAY!!! I am so happy it's almost the weekend. This was a very long short week! Here are some of my favorite items of right now. Mint, eyelet, gladiator sandals and pom poms. It's summer you guys!! June is already here I can hardly believe it! How fun is that gorgeous pink dress btw?! I just ordered it and I can't WAIT until it arrives!! Black Friday sales are starting earlier and earlier... but I'm not complaining! Seriously loving the items above, almost all of which are on sale for $9.99 or less. The few that aren't are under $18. I had a second pair of Christmas jammies picked out this morning but they've already sold out. Sales like this are a great way to stock up on basics like flannels and scarves, or find a Christmas gift for someone special in your life without breaking the bank. It's easy to get caught up in spending excessive amounts of money at this time of year, but I purposefully keep lists of items I truly want and look for great opportunities to save. Happy FriYAY everybody!! What do you all have planned for this weekend? I can't WAIT to see Mockingjay Part 2 - oh em geeee seriously so excited! SH and I will be celebrating his bday and perhaps doing some holiday shopping... And speaking of holiday shopping... so the gift guides continue! This guide features gifts that are $25 or less. They are stocking stuffer size, although many of these would be fabulous standalone gifts :) I personally own the Smashbox eyeshadow and I love it - it's the perfect size for travel or throwing in your purse for touchups, and has a lovely mix of warm and cool shades. I have my eye on the sunnies, Christmas socks, and reindeer eye mask, too. It's the most wonderful time of the year! I know what you might be thinking... But it's not even Thanksgiving yet! Holiday shopping is starting earlier and earlier every year, sometimes even before Halloween! I support early shopping, because I think it encourages people to create monthly holiday shopping budgets and stick to them. Holiday shopping can get expensive, but it doesn't have to be! Maple and Mint Quick Tip: Space out your gift buying so you don't break the bank, and stick to a strict holiday shopping budget. Don't let yourself overspend (as hard as that might be.) It's just not worth it! To make things less awkward during gift exchanges between friends or coworkers, set a spending limit, so one person doesn't give an extravagant gift that's not matched by the other. 
These are some of my all-time favorite items to gift this season. Your girlfriends are gonna love 'em!

Hello and happy hump day! Are you constantly impressed with the insane handbag collections that huge name bloggers have?! I know I am. I'm swooning with bag envy (in a good way) over every other Instagram photo. The leather, the shapes, the colors, the functionality, the style, oh it all makes me swoon! I love handbags so much! My "splurge" picks are the ones I would LOVE to have in my closet if I had, you know, $2500 to spend on EACH handbag...  see the "save" picks for some cheaper versions of those styles! What do you think of my picks? (Just a side note- The Kate Spade bag under "splurge" is almost $300 and the Michael Kors bag under "save" is also $300. This is the same amount of money. It's all about how you spend it! I consider a $300 prada-look alike a "save" and a $300 red Kate Spade satchel a splurge. It's all about how you look at something and choose to spend your money!)

Who's excited for Labor Day Weekend?! I always enjoy having a Monday off and going back to work for a shorter week, don't you? Labor Day means barbecues, beer, hot dogs, hamburgers, and waving goodbye to summer while welcoming fall with open arms. There's also lots of sales events to hit up! These are my picks for the Kohl's Labor Day sales event that's happening through September 5th. Fall Style cravings, anyone? I don't know about you but I am having serious fall fashion fever. All I can think about is prepping my closet for colder weather (which, let's be real, never really happens in LA.) I'm trying to come up with good reasons I NEED a shearling coat - like, what if I visit Alaska this year? Or the North Pole?

Military inspired coats and army green is nothing new for Fall fashion, but I always look forward to this trend coming back again and again. A beanie in army green is a fresh item to add to what military inspired items are probably already in your closet. The trend I'm most looking forward to this fall, though, is velvet! Especially velvet shoes. When I was in the fifth grade, my most treasured item was a pair of royal blue velvet lace up boots that had a chunky heel. I loved wearing them with dresses and on the first day of fifth grade I wanted to play football with the boys so I took them off (since I couldn't run in them) and ended up stepping on a bee! That was my first (and hopefully only!) bee sting and boy did it hurt! Moral of the story- never take off the velvet shoes. And of course, we've been seeing suede skirts pretty much everywhere lately - I love this green one that mixes the military trend it as well. As for graphic prints, those shorts are one of my favorites I've come across yet. Keep an eye out for more fun fall fashion so you can start wearing the trends before they are mainstreamed!
