Wardrobe Staples: Christmas List Edition

It's the most wonderful time of the year! I love taking the time around the holidays to think about all that I have to be thankful for and to rejoice in spending time with my family, friends and loved ones! I recently cleaned out my closet (which felt AMAZING by the way!!) and I made a point to touch every single piece of clothing that I own to determine whether or not it still brought me joy or was something I could use. In my opinion, it's important to cultivate a wardrobe that is a mix of high end and low end pieces. Fast fashion can keep you trendy, but there's some pieces that never go out of style, like ballet flats, turtle necks and cigarette pants. If you're working on your long-term wardrobe, these are some items to ask Santa for to get you started!

Christmas Gift Guide $100 and Under
Happy Friday lovelies!! It's December and I'm so excited because it's only 23 days until Christmas! I have my Christmas countdown blocks up on my desk at work and we decorated the office and it feels so festive and fun!
I'm going to be doing a series of gift guides at different price points over the coming weeks, $100 and under, $50 and under, $25 and under, etc. While this time of year isn't about presents, it can feel really good to give a thoughtful gift to someone you love.
Here are some ideas to help you get started!

I love the unique Monogram Glass Terrarium for someone who loves succulents and plants, and how cute and cozy is that North Face fleece jacket? I've had my North Face fleeces literally for ten years (I got them in high school) and they are still in excellent condition. They are expensive but will last you a long time. A lot of the colors/sizes are selling out but this print is really cute and still available!
I asked my boyfriend for the Love Code Charm Necklace - it has a "secret message" on it - you have to spin it to be able to read the message. How sweet is that? Something about it is really romantic :)
Also I'm a sucker for boots, and I was really excited when I saw these are 25% off! They're normally $100 but they're on sale for $75! Woohoo! I love sales!

Sale + Fall Must Haves!
There is a sale going on at Nordstrom right now ladies and it ends in four days! Up to 40% off many cute items you'll want for fall! Throw on a pair of cuffed jeans, a cute pullover sweater like the green one I linked above or this v-neck sweater, some ankle boots and you're good to go! I'm also a fan of ponchos and they're not as hard to wear as you might think. Wear them over a t-shirt and pair them with jeans and some otk boots. Many ponchos I've seen lately are also doubling as scarves. So if you try it out and aren't sure how to pull it off as a poncho, wear it as a scarf!

Hi babes!! Happy FriYAY!!! I am so happy it's almost the weekend. This was a very long short week! Here are some of my favorite items of right now. Mint, eyelet, gladiator sandals and pom poms. It's summer you guys!! June is already here I can hardly believe it! How fun is that gorgeous pink dress btw?! I just ordered it and I can't WAIT until it arrives!! What are you all doing this weekend? I'm MOVING tomorrow oh my goodness, I am very excited to move and get settled into my new home - hopefully I'll be able to do some posts on my room, closet, my DIY office space... Spring is here!
Happy Monday! Did everyone enjoy their weekend?? Did any of you go to Coachella?? SH and I flew to Catalina on Saturday and hiked around with a friend, it was so much fun!! Just stunningly beautiful!! The ocean was SO blue! It was hot enough this weekend to bust out a bathing suit and tanning lotion! Anyway I wore this outfit last weekend at the LA Times Festival of Books. It was a little cooler that weekend so I got to wear my favorite ankle booties (they're no longer in stock but I linked a similar super cute pair at a reasonable price). And if you don't have a panama hat yet for spring/summer you certainly need to get one!

J.O.A Top
I can't get enough of this off the shoulder top!!! I wore it out to dinner the other night for SH and my three year anniversary :) and I've gotten so many compliments on it! Pair it with some skinny jeans (white or black!) and platforms or wedges, start an arm party with tassel jewelry and you're good to go! I promise you'll be reaching for it all summer long!

Logomania
If you look up logomania in the dictionary, it will tell you the definition is "abnormal talkativeness." Those of us in the fashion world, however, know better than the average bibliophile. Logomania refers to, quite plainly, the desire to wear brand logos on clothing and accessories for everyone to see, rather than talking a more discreet approach to fashion.
Vogue predicted the comeback of the logo in a January article earlier this year. It's not uncommon for fashionistas to proudly display the logos of their favorite brands, (*ahem* Louis Vuitton.) But what about fast fashion brands? Less... luxe, more... accessible. Say, Forever 21?
That's exactly what the fast fashion retailer is up to these days. And it's almost satirical.
But should we really be surprised? Forever 21 is known for pumping out trendy clothing in a short amount of time. Why wouldn't the logomania apply to them? We'll see if the trend catches on and if the $8.90 tee hits the streets or the trash bins.

Pre-Black Friday Deals You Don't Wanna Miss!

Black Friday sales are starting earlier and earlier... but I'm not complaining! Seriously loving the items above, almost all of which are on sale for $9.99 or less. The few that aren't are under $18. I had a second pair of Christmas jammies picked out this morning but they've already sold out. Sales like this are a great way to stock up on basics like flannels and scarves, or find a Christmas gift for someone special in your life without breaking the bank. It's easy to get caught up in spending excessive amounts of money at this time of year, but I purposefully keep lists of items I truly want and look for great opportunities to save.
