Hey babes!! Happy Monday! Did everyone have a good weekend and a nice Mother's Day?
I feel super lucky because I got to spend all of yesterday with my mom and dad :) I wore this amazing boho chic tie dye maxi dress from The Mint Julep Boutique yesterday for our Mother's Day festivities. SH and I popped over to the beach for a quick photoshoot before kicking off mom's day with some homemade breakfast and gifts, then I planted some succulents for mom as part of her Mother's Day gift lol and then mom and I went to Target to run some errands! A jam packed, fun day! No, I did not plant succulents in this dress lol it's way too pretty to get dirty! I did change back into it immediately after planting though because I'm obsessed! Have you guys heard of The Mint Julep Boutique any way?! They're an online retailer and all of their stuff is so cuuute! I guarantee you will wear this tie dye maxi dress all summer long. It's got two high slits which add a fun and sexy flair. It also has a pretty/sexy low back to show off those back muscles you're working on before bikini season ;) I paired it with a panama hat I got two seasons ago from J.Crew and a straw tasseled tote. To accessorize I added an arm party and some cute sunnies! I seriously want to wear this dress every weekend! The detailing is so cute and don't you just love the tie dye print? Thanks for reading!

J.O.A Top

I can't get enough of this off the shoulder top!!! I wore it out to dinner the other night for SH and my three year anniversary :) and I've gotten so many compliments on it! Pair it with some skinny jeans (white or black!) and platforms or wedges, start an arm party with tassel jewelry and you're good to go! I promise you'll be reaching for it all summer long!

8 Spring Date Ideas (many of which are free!)

1. Go on a picnic!
A spring picnic is the cutest date ever! There are lots of cute places to picnic in LA. If you are looking to head to a beautiful part of the coast that's not overcrowded, Point Vicente lighthouse is a nice spot with shaded picnic tables, a path for walking and a beautiful view. Bonus: There are lighthouse tours every second Saturday of the month!

2. Go on a hike.
This is a classic activity whether you are entertaining family from out of town, getting active with friends or bonding with your SO. Griffith, Runyon, The Sunken City and the Wisdom Tree are popular LA destinations. White Point Preserve is another fairly easy hike that I enjoy for an ocean breeze and coastal views.

3. Go paddleboarding!
This is on my list for spring/summer 16!! I've never done it and I'd like to try!

4. Go for a walk on the beach.
This is a year round favorite for SH and me since we live in a gorgeous climate. Head out at sunset for a romantic end to your day.

 5. Try something new together.
Whether it's a workout class, pottery throwing, painting or cooking, get together with your beau or best friend and have a new experience together!

6. Cook a springy meal together.
Some spring go-tos include greek salad and deviled eggs.

7. Binge watch a TV show and don't feel bad about it.
Yes it's spring, but not all spring days are warm and beautiful or have to be spent outside! Laze about in your pajamas and binge watch, baby, binge watch. Take it up a notch from Netflix and chill.

8. Have a fitness battle.
After your binge watching mayyybe you need to get that blood pumping. See who takes the most steps in a day and the loser buys dinner :)

*Also, congrats to the giveaway winner, Linda R! Check your email! :)

Black + Brown

Happy Cinco de Mayo! I hope you all had a relaxing and fun weekend. I wore this outfit to a birthday party on Sunday. I wanted something slightly conservative without being too stuffy. While I don't usually wear darker colors in the spring and summer, the material this dress is made out of is super light and airy, so I can wear it and not overheat. My favorite thing about it- the gold button details!

SH snapped these in the parking lot before we went to dinner with my parents. The sun was just setting and the breeze was blowing and the weather was just perfect. I was deciding what to wear to dinner after a busy Saturday at a blogger event in Newport Beach, and honestly I just love a good comfy track pant. This pair is from Target and is softer than a baby's bottom. (Well, almost.) They are so comfortable they feel like your favorite sweatpants. Throw on some leopard sandals and a green army jacket and all of a sudden you make comfy look chic. Is there anything better than that?

This past weekend was the LA Times Festival of Books. My parents came down for the weekend and we walked around the festival for a good five hours, combing over the bargain tents for the best steals and hardback treasures. We had the best time!! The weather was perfect, it wasn't too hot, there was a nice breeze, we listened to some great music, ate at the foodtrucks and just enjoyed being together. I wore this bright neon pink tank which made it easy for my parents and SH to spot me in the crowd, paired with my favorite pair of white Gap shorts. I hardly ever wear white on my bottom half (shorts, pants, skirts, etc.) but this pair is my favorite because they are not only the perfect fit, they are patterned which prevents the usual shorts bunching from happening around the zipper area (you guys know what I'm talking about right?) I could basically live in these shorts all summer. See me wear them last summer here.

I'm also loving this new Bauble Bar tassel necklace. I didn't know how to partake in the tassel trend without breaking the bank (so many of the tassel bags I'm seeing are hundreds of dollars) so this little Bauble Bar Necklace did just the trick! Also, these Sam Edelman sandals are $90 and basically go with everything, so I'm planning on wearing them all summer.

I'm sad that the festival and the weekend are over and I'm already counting down the days until next year's festival. Here's what I brought home:
My loot!!

Oh also, LA Times Events and Hello LA Times regrammed my photo on their instagrams! Pretty cool huh? :)
