I want to start out by saying thank you. I'm extremely thankful for my family and friends and SH, my health, my home, a safe place to live, the ability to live in a country where I have rights, free will, freedom of speech, the right to an education, etc. There are a lot of things I think we can improve about our country but at the end of the day I'm extremely grateful to live in LA, one of the most progressive, culturally diverse and innovative cities in the world and in this beautiful country that I call home. 

I hope you all have something to be grateful for this holiday season. Know I'm also grateful for you, my readers, who bother to take time out of their day to take a peek at my blog. It means a lot to me and I can't thank you enough. I hope you have a lovely Tuesday.

Black Friday sales are starting earlier and earlier... but I'm not complaining! Seriously loving the items above, almost all of which are on sale for $9.99 or less. The few that aren't are under $18. I had a second pair of Christmas jammies picked out this morning but they've already sold out. Sales like this are a great way to stock up on basics like flannels and scarves, or find a Christmas gift for someone special in your life without breaking the bank. It's easy to get caught up in spending excessive amounts of money at this time of year, but I purposefully keep lists of items I truly want and look for great opportunities to save. I always associate sequins with the holidays and new years eve because they are so fun to wear for a night out on the town. Lately I've been loving sequins paired with more relaxed, comfy options, like an oversized sweater. I've had this cashmere Abercrombie sweater for ages (it's actually a men's sweater!) I tossed it over a one-shoulder mini dress that I last wore to a friend's bachelorette party for an instant casual-meets-glam look.

Happy FriYAY everybody!! What do you all have planned for this weekend? I can't WAIT to see Mockingjay Part 2 - oh em geeee seriously so excited! SH and I will be celebrating his bday and perhaps doing some holiday shopping... And speaking of holiday shopping... so the gift guides continue! This guide features gifts that are $25 or less. They are stocking stuffer size, although many of these would be fabulous standalone gifts :) I personally own the Smashbox eyeshadow and I love it - it's the perfect size for travel or throwing in your purse for touchups, and has a lovely mix of warm and cool shades. I have my eye on the sunnies, Christmas socks, and reindeer eye mask, too. I saw this plaid blanket scarf and I knew... I had to have it! It's perfect for fall and the holidays and it's less than $29! Obsessed. Grab one for yourself and your best girlfriend or your mom. They'll love it! I've been sick all week and I wore mine today at work and it kept me warm and cozy.

Happy Monday babes! I hope you all had as good a weekend as possible in light of Friday's events in Paris... Hope you all were able to spend valuable time with loved ones... I was sick all weekend with a cold but am on the mend... 
PSA: This H&M sweater is available IN STORES ONLY! Not online! I'm so sorry I can't link it here for you, I'm honestly so in love with it!! And it's such a steal, you def want to head to your local H&M to grab this sweater. It's perfect for the holidays and will double as a great Valentine's Day sweater! (If you search H&M Trend Christmas Gray Embroidered Sequin Red Heart I Love Sweater you can find it on ebay, (whew sorry that was long!) but it's WAY overpriced.) Unfortunately, these BLANKNYC faux leather track pants are old so they are no longer in stock, but I've linked a similar pair below. Same with the heels, I scooped them up at Banana Republic last year I think - if you don't already own a pair of Banana Republic heels you NEED SOME because they are seriously the most comfortable heels you will ever own. I regret wearing any other heels. These are by far my most comfortable pair. I also have them in leopard and I'm obsessed.

It's the most wonderful time of the year! I know what you might be thinking... But it's not even Thanksgiving yet! Holiday shopping is starting earlier and earlier every year, sometimes even before Halloween! I support early shopping, because I think it encourages people to create monthly holiday shopping budgets and stick to them. Holiday shopping can get expensive, but it doesn't have to be! Maple and Mint Quick Tip: Space out your gift buying so you don't break the bank, and stick to a strict holiday shopping budget. Don't let yourself overspend (as hard as that might be.) It's just not worth it! To make things less awkward during gift exchanges between friends or coworkers, set a spending limit, so one person doesn't give an extravagant gift that's not matched by the other. 

These are some of my all-time favorite items to gift this season. Your girlfriends are gonna love 'em!

I saw this dress and immediately fell in love with it. How dreamy is this rose pattern and tulle-esque skirt?! I feel like a princess whenever I wear it. I couldn't stop twirling during these photos :) This dress is such an easy, no fuss party alternative to the usual red, sequin and gold outfits donned during the holidays. It's also extremely comfortable, which is not something you can say about every holiday dress. Dress it up with ankle booties or pair with flats and a leather jacket for a more casual look.
